Brief.
The BlacQ Collective is a community-led initiative in Prince Edward Island that centres safety, celebration, and connection for Black Queer communities. The project required a brand identity that could hold space for both individuality and unity, something bold, intentional, and reflective of lived experience rather than token representation.
Design Approach.
I translated community insights and visual references into a system grounded in fluid shapes, layered gradients, and confident typography to balance strength and softness. Through collaborative refinement with the founders, the brand evolved into a flexible toolkit adaptable across posters, social media, and event materials. The final identity strengthens the Collective’s visibility and creates a visual language that feels unapologetically vibrant, grounded, and owned by the community itself.
