Who?
Hi!I am Lauren Chien, a graphic artist and designer working globally across cultures and disciplines.
With an education spanning Taiwan, Canada, and Australia, I am shaped by a layered mix of influences that continue to inform how I see and make.
Designing a practice
I see design as a way of holding memory, identity, and emotion. My projects move between client collaborations and independent explorations, often blending typography, photography, and research to create work that is thoughtful and resonant.
Beyond commissioned work, I develop projects such as Open Tabs: Design & Other Stuff and In Other Words, where I reflect on cultural nuance and multilingual expression. I am also active in the zine community, using publishing as a space for experimentation, connection, and archiving everyday culture.
What drives me is not only the pursuit of beauty but of context. I believe design can spark conversation, carry stories across borders, and invite people to see the world differently.
